Scientific trajectory
Felix Hartmann studied molecular biotechnology at Ruprecht-Karls University in Heidelberg. For his PhD studies, he joined the lab of Burkhard Becher at UZH, where he investigated the roles of T cells in the pathogenesis of MS.
Following graduation, Felix joined the lab of Sean Bendall at Stanford University as a postdoctoral fellow. In his work, Felix investigated metabolic drivers of effector T cell functionality using Multiplexed Ion Beam Imaging and mass cytometry, and developed methods to track metabolic states of single cells.
Since late 2021, Felix heads the junior research group "Systems immunology and single-cell biology" at the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) in Heidelberg.
