DKFZ Recipient - Christiane Nüsslein-Volhard Foundation Stipend
Paraskevi Kritsiligkou, Division of Redox Regulation, received the Christiane Nüsslein-Volhard (CNV) stipend 2021 for women in science with children, which the Equal Opportunities and Diversity office promotes every year. She is working on cellular adaptations to stress, with a strong focus on redox-based signalling. Paraskevi is applying genome-wide approaches to elucidate where, when and how redox signalling events occur and how they influence cell-fate decisions. In 2019, Paraskevi enrolled as a mentee in the newly launched DKFZ Tailored Mentoring.
The Christiane Nüsslein-Volhard Foundation promotes women scientists with children by supporting work-family balance through a financial grant to pay for assistance in household chores and for additional childcare: https://cnv-stiftung.de/en/goals

open from Feb 9th 6 pm CET - Feb 12th 6 pm CET
PICTURE A SCIENTIST is a feature-length documentary film by Sharon Shattuck & Ian Cheney chronicling the groundswell of researchers who are writing a new chapter for women scientists. A biologist, a chemist and a geologist lead viewers on a journey deep into their own experiences in the sciences, overcoming brutal harassment, institutional discrimination, and years of subtle slights to revolutionize the culture of science. From cramped laboratories to spectacular field stations, we also encounter scientific luminaries who provide new perspectives on how to make science itself more diverse, equitable, and open to all.
