Andreas Wörner died of cancer. In memory and commemoration of her son, his mother established a foundation without legal capacity in 2015, with the German Cancer Research Center in Heidelberg as the managing trustee.
The charitable Andreas Wörner foundation promotes science and research at the German Cancer Research Center.
