The DKFZ Patient Advisory Council for Cancer Research advises the DKFZ Management Board from a patient perspective and brings their views into the research strategy of the DKFZ. The members are themselves patients or parents with lived experience of different types of cancer. In the biannual meetings current topics in cancer research are discussed, as well as the DKFZ's research strategy and selected research projects.
The Advisory Council of the German Cancer Research Center, a circle of friends and sponsors, is made up of outstanding personalities from business, politics and the public. The Advisory Council was established in 2007 and has been continuously expanded since then. Maximilian Viessmann is the Chairman of the Advisory Council.
