Exploring the function of the CD95/CD95Ligand System in the living organism

In our studies on cellular replacement and axonal regeneration we identified the CD95/CD95Ligand system as a key player in adult NPCs and tumor biology and also in the regenerating brain. Activation of CD95 leads to increased survival and differentiation of adult NPCs and increased wanderlust of tumor cells and inflammatory cells. The lab wants to further study the molecular mechanisms leading to the different phenotypes.
