Major Tasks of the Central Library:

Providing scientific literature and information needed by the scientists of the German Cancer Research Center (Facts and Numbers - Central Library)
Main areas of collection are: Tumor Biology, Mechanisms of Cancer Genesis, Carcinogenic Factors, Cancer Prevention, Research on Diagnostics and Therapy as well as other special subjects needed by our scientists.
Giving support by librarians to decentralized library locations of the Research Center
Editing and publishing the overview of publications of the German Cancer Research Center
Setting up an archive of the history of the Research Center in collaboration with the archive of University of Heidelberg
