The International PhD Student Cancer Conference is an initiative coordinated by Cancer Research UK and is organized “by the students for the students” of several renowned cancer research centres across Europe. This year's conference is hosted by the German Cancer Research Center, Heidelberg. Other participating institutes are:
- The CRUK Institutes in London (LRI), Cambridge (CRI), Manchester (PICR), Glasgow (BICR) and Oxford (GIROB)
- The Netherlands Cancer Institute (NKI) in Amsterdam
- The European School of Molecular Medicine (SEMM: IFOM-IEO)
- The Vita-Salute San Raffaele University (DIBT) in Milan, Italy
- The Spanish National Cancer Centre (CNIO) in Madrid
The aims of the conference are to allow PhD students from the cancer research institutes across Europe to present and discuss their work at their own scientific conference, provide networking opportunities, and interact with the invited eminent speakers in an informal setting.
The European Association for Cancer Research is committed to support young researchers and is pleased to award poster prizes in recognition of excellent work. Furthermore, Illumina is awarding the best talks with valuable prizes.
