Workshops on December 1st, 2016
Workshops will take place in the afternoon between 4 and 6 pm (you will receive detailed information after registration)
- "Management of collaborative research projects – a brief introduction and some philosophy"
Susan Kentner (Acting Head of the DKFZ Grants Office)
All of us carry out projects – more or less successfully – every day, in our work, but also in our private lives. So maybe without even realizing it, you have acquired project management skills that you can develop even further as a possible career option. In the workshop, we will discuss the unique characteristics of research projects and the special challenges of carrying out research projects involving many partners. Workshop participants will be invited to propose solutions for some typical pitfalls and problems that often arise in project management. The goal of this mini-workshop is thus to become aware of the skills and expertise required to become a successful project manager.
- “Project Management in practice”
Dieter Weber (Project Manager at Jülich Research Centre, Consultant & Partner at Bond Consulting - Venture and Technology)
"EVERYBODY has experience in project management already! Learn how activities in a scientific career relate to project management, and what type of work and challenges to expect as a project manager."
