Ivana studied Molecular Biology at the University of Zagreb before starting her PhD at the University of Tübingen and International Max Planck Research School "From Molecules to Organism". Her PhD project focused on the function and regulation of miRNAs in liver carcinogenesis.
She joined the Odom and Gonçalves' labs in October 2019. Her projects focus on the computational analysis of morphological and transcriptional changes in the female reproductive tract across the reproductive cycle, into aging, and upon hormonal stimulation using single-cell and spatial transcriptomics.
In her free time she likes swimming, painting, re-reading her favorite novels and making origami.
