Francesca grew up and did her undergraduate studies in Italy.
Afterwards, she was awarded a Leonardo scholarship for a project that she carried out at the University of Bern in Switzerland, where she also obtained her PhD in epigenetics. She then moved to Heidelberg, where she worked for three years as a laboratory manager at the European Molecular Biology Laboratories. After that, she joined the Gonçalves and Odom labs.
In her free time she likes painting and solving puzzles, and, as a good Italian, she can be very loud!
