Donald studied Molecular Biotechnology with a focus on Bioinformatics at the University of Heidelberg. During his studies, he had the opportunity to participate in several extensive research stays at Charité Berlin, UC Berkeley and the DKFZ. His projects ranged from transcriptional regulation in the developing fruit fly to cell-based therapeutic strategies for the treatment of acute myocardial infarction to multi-omics analysis of prostate, as well as breast cancer. He is currently working as a PhD student in the labs of Oliver Stegle and Duncan Odom on the prediction of cell type-specific enhancer condensate formation, as well as on deciphering the spatio-temporal interplay between the immune system and subclonal tumor populations.
