Domenico obtained his B.Sc. from the University of Maastricht. His thesis project addressed the molecular mechanisms of pancreatic cancer progression, which contributed to the discovery of a blood-borne biomarker that aids in early detection and differential diagnosis. In the scope of his Master's degree in Oncology at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, he wrote his thesis at the Fior Lab of the Champalimaud Foundation on the pharmacological modulation of the colorectal cancer tumor immune microenvironment in larval zebrafish xenografts.
He joined the Odom Lab as a shared Ph.D. student to investigate the role and evolution of tumor-immune interactions in metastatic cancer using spatial omics technologies. Moreover, he loves to cook, talk politics, read about the philosophy of science, and travel to get to know other cultures and languages. As he is the ultimate pasta-lover you will realize he rarely eats something else.
