The open-source multi-modality dose calculation and treatment planning toolkit matRad has been around nearly a decade, and it is time bring our users - researchers, educators and students - together to share your work, ideas, and to hack away with us during our matRad User Meeting & Hackathon 2025!

The course is divided into a matRad User Meeting from February 17 to 18, 2025, followed by a Hackathon from February 19 to 21, 2025. You can register for both parts or the matRad User Meeting only. Participants can submit their projects to be presented during the course.

Target Group, Travel Grants & Awards

Target Group:

All users somehow working with matRad are welcome. Researchers, educators, developers, or industry users. We want to see the spectrum of matRad applications, hear what you like and don't like in matRad, and work on integrating your ideas.

Travel Grants: 

Thanks to the funding from the German Research Foundation (DFG) there are a limited number of travel grants available to those participants who submits their research projects to be presented during the workshop. The travel grant consists of the following: 

  • Travel Costs up to € 250 (cheapest booking class only, i.e., 2nd class train / economy flights)
  • 6 nights in a pre-booked hotel in Heidelberg

Awards

Depending on the final number of participants we can offer a Coding Award as well as a Creativity Award

Fees and Application

Fees: 

You can decide to register for the whole workshop (Mon. - Fri.) or for the user meeting only. 

  • matRad User Meeting and Hackathon (Mon - Fri): € 100
  • matRad User Meeting only (Mon. - Tue.): € 75

Payments can only be done either by Credit Card or Wire Transfer/Invoice. The candidates will receive all relevant information to initiate the payment by email once their participation is accepted and confirmed in mid of December 2024. Please only register for the course, if you can use one of our two payment options.

 Application

At first, your application will be reviewed by the course leaders. Once the application is accepted mid of December 2024, each participant gets further instructions on how to pay the fees either by Credit Card or by wire transfer based on an invoice. Cash payments of payment by PayPal are not possible.
