Your dual study program in Medical Informatics at the DKFZ
You will work as part of a team on research projects that mainly deal with research-related software development. You will develop modern, intuitive user interfaces and visualization techniques that support the latest technologies (e.g. virtual or augmented reality). You will also work on the development and design of software architectures and systems. Your work will make an important contribution to supporting research projects.
In addition to computer science, this course will provide you with medical, biological and administrative knowledge. This includes anatomy and physiology, medical documentation, biometrics and medical technology. You can apply the knowledge you have acquired in the practical phases.
Your dual study program lasts six semesters. It begins on 1 September and starts with an introductory week. The course alternates regularly between lectures at the Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University in Karlsruhe (DHBW) and several practical phases at the DKFZ. During the practical phases, you will work on various projects in the IT department.

- Good knowledge of German, at least level C1
- Good to very good grades, especially in mathematics
