IT Specialist, Application Development (m/f/d)
Your training as an IT specialist in the field of application development at the DKFZ
As an IT specialist in the field of application development, you will use programming languages to design and configure application-oriented software programs according to the requirements of scientists and administrative service staff. You will develop and implement complex information and telecommunications technology systems. You will also install and work on networked information and telecommunications technology systems. During your training, you will get to know different focal points and can specialize in them and deepen your knowledge in this area.
- The apprenticeship lasts 3 years.
- If you perform very well, you can bring forward your final examination.
- During your apprenticeship, you will pass through various departments such as: Theoretical Bioinformatics, Molecular Biophysics, Medical Biology and Computer Science.
- Vocational school lessons take place at the Hubert Sternberg School (Wiesloch) in block form.
- In addition to the vocational school lessons, we will support you in internal teaching units.
- You will take your final exams (Part 1 and Part 2) at the Rhine-Neckar Chamber of Industry and Commerce - we will prepare you for this in the best possible way.
- You will have the opportunity to gain experience abroad in Europe during your apprenticeship (Erasmus Plus)
- You will start with an introductory event in which you will learn important methods together with other apprentices that will help you get your vocational training off to a successful start.
- Good secondary school certificate, vocational baccalaureate or high school diploma
- Interest in mathematics and digitalization
- Experience and enjoyment in working with computers and basic technical understanding
- Enjoy searching for system errors
- Good English skills, as you will also be communicating with colleagues from different countries
- Good knowledge of German, at least level C1
- Social skills and enjoy working with people
