Translational Genomics

Our research

Our "Clinical Bioinformatics - Translational Genomics" working group, which is also based at the KiTZ, focuses on the identification and classification of genetic and epigenetic changes in childhood tumors using computer-assisted methods. This work enables us to create personalized molecular tumor profiles that allow physicians to develop a tailored therapeutic approach for each individual patient. In addition, we focus on the development of bioinformatic methods for the optimized diagnosis and prognosis of paediatric cancers based on molecular data from high-throughput sequencing as well as on the analysis of possible mechanisms of tumorigenesis.
