RNA modifications can alter gene expression, thus playing a crucial role in cancer development.
Leona, a PhD student in our lab, studies the role of the RNA modifier VIRMA. This protein is a regulatory member of the m6A writer complex, which installs the m6A RNA modification. Leona investigates the mechanistic functions of VIRMA in melanoma tumorigenesis and the impact of m6A on dendritic cell function.
