The personal data you provide by donating (salutation, first and last name, if applicable: company name, postal address, phone number, date of birth), will be processed for the following purposes: 

• Issuance of a donation receipt by DKFZ

• Fundraising communications (including postal mail), e.g., sending informational materials by DKFZ and/or third-party processors commissioned by DKFZ

If you make an online donation, the following personal data will be processed: salutation, first and last name, email address (mandatory fields), if applicable: company name, postal address, and phone number (optional fields). Your personal data will be processed for the following purposes:

• Processing and settlement of your donation with RaiseNow AG
• Issuance of a donation receipt by DKFZ
• Fundraising communications (including postal mail), e.g., sending informational materials by DKFZ and/or third-party processors commissioned by DKFZ

Depending on the selected payment method, your first and last name, as well as your banking details, will be shared with our payment service providers (Stripe or PayPal).

DKFZ also processes personal data for fundraising purposes, as it has a legitimate interest in collecting donations for cancer research. This also applies if you would like to initiate or have already initiated a fundraising campaign or donation event, or if you have requested informational material about DKFZ and have provided us with your data for this purpose.

For occasion-based donations where a keyword is provided, your first and last name will be shared with the initiator of the fundraising campaign (donor list), provided they are known to us and have requested this information. No further sharing of your personal data with third parties will occur.

Personal data collected as part of your donation will be stored for ten years from the date of your last donation.

You have the right to request information about the data we process concerning you (right of access). You have the right to rectification and/or completion if the processed personal data is incorrect or incomplete (right to rectification). You may request the restriction of processing your personal data at any time (right to restriction of processing). You can request the immediate deletion of your personal data at any time (right to erasure). You have the right to receive your personal data in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format (right to data portability). You have the right to withdraw your consent to the processing of your personal data at any time. The legality of processing based on consent remains unaffected until withdrawal. Statutory retention periods remain unaffected.

Regardless of any other administrative or judicial remedy, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority if you believe that the processing of your personal data violates the GDPR (right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority).

The provision of your personal data is required for the issuance of a donation receipt. If you do not provide your address, you will not receive a donation receipt. Consent to the processing of your personal data is voluntary. You may refuse consent to data processing and donate to DKFZ anonymously.

Providing your personal data is necessary for processing your online donation. Consent to data processing is voluntary; however, without this consent, an online donation cannot be carried out.
