Career Center for Postdocs
DKFZ Career Development Center
The DKFZ Career Service received funding of 150.000 Euros per year for 3 (to max. 5) years from the “Helmholtz Initiative and Networking Fund”, to establish one of three Helmholtz Career Development Centers for Researchers. The new Career Center will focus on Postdocs, as an extension of the existing PhD Career Service, which offers one-to-one career guidance, trainings and career networks. In cooperation with the DKFZ Postdoc Program the center will develop a competence assessment software to support young researchers in creating and managing their personal career development plan. The self-assessment of skills and interests will help to define career options and appropriate trainings within the postdoctoral career development portfolio, which is based on career paths taken by DKFZ Alumni in academia and beyond.

CareerCheck (careercheck.dkfz.de) is an internet-based career advice and career planning tool for young scientists at the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ). It complements the existing career services such as guidance talks, trainings, Career Days and the internet platform dkfz-connect.
