MD Thesis Project
The Winkler Lab (DKFZ Heidelberg, University Hospital Heidelberg) and the Venkataramani Lab (University Hospital Heidelberg) are looking for an MD student to study neuron-brain metastases synaptic contacts (Venkataramani*, Karreman* et al, bioRxiv 2024; Venkataramani et al, Nature 2019, Venkataramani et al, Cell 2022).
We are looking for someone who is interested in working in the emerging field of cancer neuroscience, on a challenging project combining cancer research and neuroscience. You will contribute to a better understanding of brain metastases formation and to the identification of novel therapeutic approaches that specifically target neuron-cancer synapses.

- Reliable, organized and an efficient communicator?
- Excited about learning and applying new laboratory techniques?
- Willing to work with preclinical models of brain metastases (in mice)?
- Interested in interdisciplinary, clinically relevant research on brain metastases?
