The Equal Opportunities Office
The Equal Opportunities Office aims to achieve and sustain equity between the genders. We are responsible for supporting employees of all genders on the topics of family, care, work-life balance, career advancement, bullying, harassment and discrimination. Beyond this, we are responsible for checking on recruitment procedures. Besides the events open to all DKFZ staff that are hosted on a regular basis, we are also connected to the Helmholtz Association Women's Network and networks around Heidelberg, to discuss issues and the active support of female staff. We are also in the process of actively expanding our efforts to encompass all dimensions of diversity.
The goals of the Equal Opportunities Office, based on the AVGlei Law are to:
•Promote and monitor equality between women and men
•Eliminate and prevent discrimination on grounds of gender
•Support the reconciliation of family and professional life
•Ensure protection against bullying and sexual harassment in the workplace.
