Heinrich F.C. Behr Stipends for Medical Students

Building on excellent basic research, it is increasingly possible to translate promising laboratory findings into clinical applications. This challenging task requires not only excellent scientific qualifications, but also medical expertise. Now more than ever, we need physicians who also wish to pursue a scientific career. 

Please submit the following documents in English as a single PDF file via the DKFZ job portal (link below):

• Completed cover sheet (template is linked below)

• Curriculum Vitae

• A project outline (max. 5 pages) independently written by the applicant

• Letter of recommendation from the scientific supervisor (Faculty supervisor)

• Letter of recommendation from the DKFZ group/division head

• A confirmation from the applicant confirming that no academic credits will be earned at the university during the research period of the stipend (this document does not need to be translated the English)

• Academic transcripts (this document does not need to be translated the English)

The submitted applications will be reviewed by an internal selection committee. Based on the reviews, the best candidates will be invited for a short presentation at the beginning of September. The selection committee will prepare a funding recommendation to be submitted to the DKFZ Foundation Board and the Board of Trustees of the Heinrich F.C. Behr Foundation for final decision.
